Great Travel Products

travel tips and products

I guess everyone has their own list of travel tips.  I too have a few.  And really, can you have too many?

So, for my first article on travel tips, I want to talk about two gadgets that are great for traveling that I’ve picked up.  The first is a “cross-the-body” day bag and the other is a battery back-up for your cell phone.

I learned my lesson quickly on a trip that had a connection flight in Atlanta.  During the connection, the airport had a blackout as we were taxiing away from the gate.  Unfortunately, our jet had to return to the gate with the thousands of other people stranded at the airport.  It was a horrible experience made even worse with a phone with a dying battery.  For hours, I was trying to contact the airline and family to secure travel arrangements only to be met with no power to the terminal, unfriendly airline staff, and a dying phone battery. As soon as I got home, I bought myself a backup battery.

The power bank I purchased was the RAVPower Portable Charger 22000mAh External Battery Pack 22000 Power Banks 5.8A Output 3-Port (2.4A Input, iSmart 2.0 USB Ports, Li-polymer Phone Charger).

While larger than some others you can purchase online, it will recharge your phone about 5 times.  It has four indicator lights showing the charge level.  It also has 3 USB ports that allow you to charge more than one device at a time (You can share).  This is also great when flying on plans that do not have power outlets or USB ports at the seat.   It is small enough to carry in your day bag as you site-see.  It charges devices relatively quick but itself does take a while to charge. I recommend charging it over night if you’ve used it a good bit.  As I said before, it does have LED charge indicators.  All-in-all, I love this device and will never travel without it.

The next travel product I found is the Peicees Chest Crossbody Sling Backpack Bag Travel Bike Gym Daypack for Women Men.

This is a recent purchase I made for only $15 on Amazon.  I love that it has many pockets and I can wear it with the bag to the front for easy access.  It is great for carrying your cell phone and backup battery, water bottle, maps, headphones or other electronics.  It even fits an iPad mini.  This is great for walking, biking, or even hiking around that great next destination you’re planning.  It’s not waterproof but it water resistant.  It is very comfortable to wear and comes in a multitude of colors.

Well, those are my two go-to products this time.  Check back again and see what else I find that makes traveling easier.

Thanks for tripping with me.
