Best Place to Take Sunset Photos in Miami Beach

Biscayne Bay
Biscayne Bay

In this video, I show where visitors and locals alike can come and capture some of the most vibrant sunsets in Miami Beach, Florida. The Baywalk is a walkway on the West side of South Beach overlooking Biscayne Bay. You can gain access to it at 14th street and 16th street. I think this is one of the best sunset viewing spots in all of South Beach. Parts of the Baywalk close after dark.

Enjoy the journey and thanks for tripping with me.

Carnival Victory Hurricane Dorian Cruise 2019 (Part 2)

Carnival Victory (soon to be Radiance)

Here is the second part of a 3 part series of my first Video Blog.  This is also my first time on a Carnival cruise ship, the Victory. Carnival is quite different from the many other cruises I’ve done on Royal Caribbean. In this video, we go to Key West and have key lime pie from what I think is the best place in the world to get it from.

Great Eats in Miami Beach

When visiting Miami Beach, every tourist will encounter the typical “traps” one finds in a resort city/tourist destination.  As a local, I have had the opportunity to sample the plethora of restaurants on this seven-mile-long sandbar.  Luckily, I live like I travel, on a budget.  So, like when traveling, I on occasion may select to splurge or more often, choose budget-friendly restaurants.  Usually in Miami Beach, even when I “splurge” it is during Miami Spice months where I can sample expensive restaurants for a budget price-fixed menu.

Detach in Marathon, FL Keys

Oh how one loves to detach from the world and escape from the struggles of “real life”.  Yet, where does one go to do that when you only have a weekend?  For Floridians, I think Marathon might be just the ticket.

48 Hours in the Big Easy

48 Hours in the Big Easy: Easy Life, Easy Fun, Easy Food

Flying from Miami to New Orleans is rather quick; it’s less than 2 hours.  This makes for a great forty-eight hour getaway.

The Marriott New Orleans is billed as a 4 star hotel- it gets four dots on TripAdvisor, and I would give it 4 dots as well.  But that might be a bit generous for some.  You see, it’s nice, yet it has a funny smell in the hallway (on the 6th floor at least).  It also had a bit of mold in the caulking around the tub.  For me, that wasn’t enough to ding the hotel for.  It is a clean, lively, centrally located, higher end hotel and they do charge for that.  The staff is friendly, there’s a Starbucks in the lobby, and they have the most unusual elevator security scheme I’ve ever seen.
